I was given the ARC of part 1 by the author.

When she said this book was sexually explicit I thought yeah right I’ve heard that before. But she was right. I was overly aroused reading the whole book and I am not into BDSM. The descriptions were so vivid and complete that my imagination had me in quite a state the whole time.

The mixture of modern and Victorian setting and practices was fun. His sham marriage to a cousin as well as his job as a politician made the setting older, but his use of technology and cars made it modern. I was a little put off at first at the thought of him having a “pet” since I have control issues, but as I got pulled into his “training” I no longer cared. I was not impressed by the wife. She seemed to be a cliche of arranged marriage material from all stories. I would like to know what she knows about the “pet” though.

The nipple and labia rings really got me. When he was putting the jewels in her labia I was so turned on and I have no idea why. The thought of someone piercing my labia scares the hell out of me, but I assume her modifications were done under anesthesia. The thought of her being awake for all that made me feel bad for her so I assumed she wasn’t!

As the story progressed I was at times angry with him for his stupid macho need to be superior. At no time did I feel like he was torturing her though. I would like to know how a woman ends up in the situation of having to become someone’s pet. The other servants seemed to see it as normal as their servitude. Different time and place I guess.

I was irritated that the book ended on such a cliffhanger. I HATE cliffhangers, I most likely wont be reading part 2. I see no reason why an author needs to end a book at a critical point. I’m not sure if they write one part and want to publish it so bad that they don’t wait for part two or three, or if they do it keep people buying their books. I usually avoid books that say part 1 or tell you they end in a cliffhanger in the description.

Book will be available July 12 on Amazon.
