I got this ARC from Inkitt Exclusive. It is a paranormal romance with light on the erotica. A half human, Seraphina, tries to avoid the world she was born into but ends up with no choice. Her friends are all Fae and she is a witch. After an old Upir (vampire) decides to claim her that she must fully immerse herself in the world she was running from. Her life is put in danger many times from both him and others. I loved the story and cannot wait for the sequel. I was amazed that so many immortals were willing to help Seraphina since the Fae especially are usually not very helpful to humans. I was also amazed that she learned so much so quickly. I was a little disappointed that she has not learned of her true nature or full heritage by the end of the book. I hope all those questions are answered for her and us in the sequel. There are a LOT of characters to keep up with. I was confused as to who all the people were since a few have different nick names. Sebastian has so many people that work for him and with him. Also there are so many people in the different levels of hierarchy that are a little confusing. If I hadn't read so many paranormal and faery stories previously I might have been confused by all the different species of creatures as well. While this is a romance the sex is used mainly as a weapon or an exchange of power as is typical in the paranormal world. Sex has a deeper meaning in the Fae world especially. It can be used as a weapon to overpower someone or a way to get information from them. The fact that the two powerful men liked rough sex with a mortal virgin made me cringe but I expected it. I will have to say that if I had to be a virgin for the rest of eternity I think that I would shy away from men also. That has to suck for sex to hurt at first every time. The relationship between Phin and Sebastian is so explosive and intense that I was rooting for her to give in from the get go. Her reluctance to be claimed makes sense but I was so frustrated with her. The fact that she so willingly took Granger to bed also irked me. The fact that she has a sexual relationship with Luka was intriguing to me as well as the other characters. I am guessing that a Fae female being with a human female is not usual even in a world that doesn't have the same inhibitions as the human world. Overall the few flaws with the book were not enough for me to rate it any less than 5 stars. I am highly anticipating the sequels to see Phin come into her powers and explore her relationship with Sebastian.
